The Jets had until 5:00 pm ET today to sign 2016 5th rounder Jordy Stallard to a contract but the time has come and gone for the young player from Brandon, Manitoba. Stallard is now eligible to re-enter the 2018 NHL Entry Draft which takes place later this month in Dallas.
Stallard had a bounce back season as an overager with the Prince Albert Raiders finishing the season with 44 goals and 47 assists for 91 points in 72 games which was good enough for 14th overall in WHL scoring.
Stallard signed an ATO with the Manitoba Moose back on April 7th to join the Jets AHL farm club for the rest of their season and playoff run. He didn’t get into any games but it would have given the organization an opportunity to evaluate him. He was released from the tryout agreement with the Moose on May 2nd.
