Today, Jets head coach Scott Arniel let us know that Heinola has an infection in the same ankle which he labelled as “Ville, not so good. Got some bad news on him. His ankle, he’s got an infection. So this isn’t day-to-day”.
Said they’ll come back around this in about a week but did add “it’s a little more serious than we thought.”
There was some swelling that the team was dealing with but the bloodwork came back showing that Heinola had the infection. Arniel added, while qualifying he’s not a doctor, that the screw in Heinola’s ankle is what got infected. Said he didn’t know next steps other than doctor looking at it further.
