Winnipeg Jets defenceman Haydn Fleury labelled as day-to-day after taking shot to the knee

The Jets were without defenceman Haydn Fleury for the 3rd period of their 3-2 win on Saturday over the Kings as the defender took a puck to the knee late in the 2nd period. He tried to test it out just before the final frame got underway but he was unable to get going.

After the game head coach Scott Arniel said he took a puck to the side of the kneecap. He indicated he was “pretty sore” and said “wake up tomorrow, see how he is, see how he’s doing.”.

With Winnipeg set to head out on the road for two games this week it was a clear sign that he wouldn’t be ready when the team announced the recall of Kale Clague from the Moose.

After practice head coach Scott Arniel confirmed that Fleury was day-to-day. He told assembled media that “Bad bruise here. We’ll see. Go day-to-day here. See how he is tomorrow. If he’s ready to go we’ll throw him back in the lineup. But we’ll just take it day-to-day.”.

Which sounds like they think he could be a player tomorrow against the Islanders.
