Jets defenceman Anthony Bitetto had not participated in the first 10 days of Jets training camp and was labeled “unable to participate in practice” since camp got underway in Winnipeg on July 13th but today he joined the black aces squad for his first skate.
During his media availability he confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19 in Nashville (his off-season home) in late June (24th). Bitetto said he experienced mild symptoms including shortness of breath but he was lucky to not have to deal with more serious symptoms. Bitetto spent 29 days total in quarantine and said he was shocked he had it because he felt fine for the first five days. He was then cleared to return to the team but still had to do a quarantine in Canada to comply with the law and NHL policy.
