The Jets quest to match last year’s 15-1-0 start continues as they pick up their third straight win, improving to 3-1-0 as they defeat the Flyers 5-2.

Notable:
Gustav Nyquist takes advantage of the time and space he’s given before he finds Nino Niederrieter. Vlad Namestnikov finds the loose puck for his first of the season.
Mark Scheifele is going for an 82-goal season as he scores his fourth goal in game number four, making it 2–0 for the Jets. And sending a message to the folks at Team Canada.
Just like Monday the Jets give up a goal and then quickly respond. Not too shabby. While it wasn’t a snipe, it was Morgan Barron’s third goal of the season in his fourth game. While I don’t expect him to hit 61 this season (current pace) he sure looks like he’s gonna easily eclipse his career high of 11 in 80 games (2023-24).
While it’s just three games and two periods into this Jets season the biggest surprise for me is the penalty kill. Without Adam Lowry and Dylan Samberg they’ve killed 16 of 17 to start the season. No chance did I think that was gonna happen.
Remember when folks in this market were mad the Jets drafted Mark Scheifele over Sean Couturier…. Two more goals tnt for 55 gives him a 265 point lead in the points category. Only one player from the 2011 draft class has more points than Scheifele. And watching 81 to 55 is just automatic.
Tanner Pearson sealed the deal with an empty netter.
Multi Point Game:
Mark Scheifele 2G
Kyle Connor 2A
