Winnipeg Jets comeback to win ninth straight against the Wild defeating them 4-3 in OT

For the ninth straight time the Jets defeat the Wild, taking it 4-3 in OT as Kyle Connor got it done.

For those who would like to take a deeper dive into the advanced stats click here to see the results from the game via Natural Stat Trick.

Notable:

Gabriel Vilardi moved into sole possession of 50th on the all-time Jets games played list moving past Olli Jokinen. Logan Stanley also moved ahead of Nate Schmidt into sole possession of 33rd all-time with 212.

Sticking with the stay close to the net, Gabriel Vilardi opened the scoring by doing just that as he got his second goal in the last three games.

Not sure I had Vlad Namestnikov tying Kyle Connor for 2nd on the Jets in goals just 10 games into the season as his fourth of the season made it 2-0 for Winnipeg just 22 seconds after the opened the scoring. Of course that didn’t last too long.

Cole Koepke created a glorious chance at one end in the 1st and then somehow the Wild weren’t able to bury this glorious chance. That theme wouldn’t continue in the middle frame as they began to bury them.

Of course we were treated to a battle between (Un)Friendly Manitoba vs Minnesota (not so) Nice.

The Jets didn’t protect the house and the Wild made them pay in the middle frame after this chaotic sequence.

Speaking of bounces this was an instance where it didn’t bounce in the home teams favour but shortly thereafter they did as this one came off the glass and Connor Hellebuyck puts it into his own net to tie the game.

Morgan Barron continues to do the most with what he’s given as he came that close to giving Winnipeg back the lead. Rings it off the crossbar.

Taking penalties against the 3rd best power play in the league isn’t ideal as Minnesota got their first lead of the game early in the 3rd.

As timely goals go this was a big one. NHL gave it to Nino Niederreiter instead of Gustav Nyquist who led the fly by to tie it 3-3. Watching replay I think they’ll change it and give it to Nyquist. His first for his new team against his old one.

Is there anything more automatic than Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele? 81 ties 55 on the all-time game-winning goals list with his 61st of his career.

Winnipeg improves to 7-3-0 on the season.

Multi Point Game:.

Mark Scheifele 2A
Logan Stanley 2A
