Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice doesn’t receive Jack Adams nomination

The NHL announced their three finalists for the Jack Adams award and surprising to some is the fact that Jets bench boss Paul Maurice wasn’t on the list of candidates for coach of the year.  Instead that honour went to Rangers coach Alain Vigneault, Flames coach Bob Hartley and Predators coach Peter Laviolette.

In his first full season with Winnipeg he took a team that was projected to finish last in the Central (well out of the playoffs) and despite a rash of injuries, coached the squad to a 15 point improvement in the standings (99 points in 2014-15) from the previous season (84 points in 2013-14) and their first post season appearance since relocation to Winnipeg.

According to the NHL the award is determined by the NHL Broadcasters’ Association who submit ballots for the Jack Adams Award at the conclusion of the regular season.

So when you look at the list of three finalists do you think the Jets bench boss merited a spot in the final three?
