Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry back on the ice after off-season hip surgery

At the end of May we learned that Jets captain Adam Lowry had undergone successful hip surgery with an expected to be a 5-6 month rehabilitation. A month following we heard from GM Kevin Cheveldayoff who indicated that Lowry was “almost off crutches” although he said timeline remained vague until the Albertan was back on the ice.

Specifically Cheveldayoff said:

“No, and we won’t really until I think he progresses into the skating phases and stuff like that. Those are things where you also wanna be cautious. because you put all that time and effort into rehab, you want to make sure that it’s the right decision.”

Fast forward two months and today the Jets social media team put out a tweet indicating that he was back on the ice.

While it doesn’t provide any insight as to his timeline it’s obviously a good sign that he is progressing.
