The Jets concluded their three-game road trip with an OT loss to the Golden Knights but began it with back-to-back wins over the Kings and Coyotes which means they return to Manitoba with five of six points and currently a share of 1st spot in the central.
Following the game associate coach Scott Arniel was asked for updates on Nikolaj Ehlers, Logan Stanley and head coach Rick Bowness. Here is what he had to say:
On Nikolaj Ehlers:
He was supposed to skate with the team on the trip and when asked if he had Arniel indicated:
“No. He never ended up skating. Still trying to get him to that next level where his off ice workouts get a little heavier. Still not there yet.”
On Logan Stanley:
As per Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet the defenceman was in a walking boot after blocking a shot last Monday against the Blues. Kenny asked if he was more than day-to-day. Arniel said:
“We’re gonna see. He’s gonna get looked at again when we get home. He took that shot just under the top of his skate. It’s pretty bad, swelling up pretty bad, so we’ll see where he’s at when we get home.”
On Rick Bowness:
“It’s a touchy subject now. His one word answer is ‘fine’. So that’s all I’m getting from him…I think he’ll be back this week.”
