Notable:
Good hustle from AJF which resulted in his first point of the season as he got the puck over to captain Adam Lowry who opened the scoring with 2.2 seconds left in the 1st period after he went fives games without finding the back of the net.
Lowry is on pace for 16 goals which would be a career high for the first-year captain.
Sometimes it pays to be unpredictable and that’s what we saw on the Jets second goal of the night with Kyle Connor taking the Nikolaj Ehlers pass and quickly firing it on net which seemed to catch a lot of folks (including the camera person) off guard.
27 continues to find his grove as a facilitator.
Josh Morrissey continues to show that last season wasn’t an anomaly as he scored his sixth of the season to help Winnipeg re-establish their two goal lead. He is on pace to match his goal total (16) from last season.
After giving up a late goal in the middle frame and then taking two penalties in close proximity this looked like one of those opportunities to hand away points. Instead the PK showed up and shut down the Avs, who despite all that firepower are like the Jets find themselves sitting in 18th in the NHL (tied with the Jets).
Number 81 continues to challenge for most goals in the NHL as Kyle Connor grabbed his own pass to seal the deal making it 4-2 with the empty netter. That was his 17th goal of the season putting him off Brock Boeser’s NHL leading 18th. That puts him on pace for 55 goals this season.
Another win for Connor Hellebuyck who put up a .941 save% in the victory as he improves to 12-6-1 on the season.
Multi Point Game:
Kyle Connor 2G
Josh Morrissey 1G 1A
