Winnipeg Free Press:  Scheifele to wear no.55.  A solid number.  Expect the Freedom 55 lines to begin starting today.  Or possibly the Sammy Hagar “I can’t drive 55” song to play when he scores!

Globe and Mail:  The Scheifele family heads to Winnipeg.  I think the guys spoke with the Scheifele family following the Entry Draft in Minneapolis and they were excited then that their son had been selected by his mentor’s team.  Just wait till they see how their son has been embraced by the entire city.

NHL.com:  On and off ice, Mark Scheifele has earned his NHL spot.  This is the Mark Scheifele show and many fans in Winnipeg are not going to be able to turn the channel.

NHL.com:  Home is where fans give you a standing ovation.  The Finnish Flash got quite the welcome when he returned to Finland but this is why we in Winnipeg love him:

When asked if he now has seen it all, Selanne grinned.

The Spectator:  Winnipeg’s return leads list of what to watch in upcoming season.  Even if you are not a hockey fan (although one may ask why you are reading a hockey site if not) the fact that the city of Winnipeg is back in the National/International headlines should make you excited/proud for the return of the Jets.
