TSN: ‘We need him to go to the net’: Bowness explains Appleton’s role on top line. Mason Appleton has some familiarity playing on the right wing alongside Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor and he hopes that experience last season will translate to success on the top line. Jets head coach Rick Bowness explains why he fits in so well with Scheifele and Connor and what he wants to see from him.

TSN: Hellebuyck gets a night off as Brossoit faces former team tonight. Laurent Brossoit will make his first start in his second tour of duty for the Jets against the team with whom he won a Stanley Cup this spring after dispatching Winnipeg in the first round. TSN Jets reporter John Lu has more on the timely rest for Connor Hellebuyck, who is still searching for his Vezina form.

TSN: Jets pumped to eradicate ‘sour taste’ with first game against Vegas since playoff exit. The Jets bowed out of the Stanley Cup playoffs last season in five games at the hands of the eventual champion Golden Knights. With a chance to get some revenge tonight at home, the Jets are very much looking forward to the matchup but know it will be a tough test against the undefeated Knights.
