Jets news:
The Hockey News: The Winnipeg Jets are at a crossroads. Feels like you need to read this while listening to the song The Crossroads by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
Toronto Sun: Much more than Matthews to watch as Leafs face Jets. One storyline features one of the most exciting players in the game on the cusp of hitting 50 goals and the other is about a 4th liner who will play approximately three to six minutes and punch some faces.
Sportsnet: Maple Leafs, Wayne Simmonds ready for ‘bad blood’ rematch with Jets. Teams in the East (or the media that cover them) tend to think of the Jets as a “heavy team” but that was the 2017-18 team not this one. Not sure why folks haven’t gotten that memo.
Illegal Curve: Jets vs Leafs pre-game report. The Jets held a morning skate followed by a media availability before they take on Toronto. Check out the projected lines and D pairs and hear from players.
Illegal Curve: Morning Papers. If you missed any of the news from earlier today we have you covered.
Jets Video:
TSN: Simmonds on why the Jets, other teams relish beating the Leafs: ‘We’re Toronto’. After the Winnipeg Jets beat the Toronto Maple Leafs the last time the two teams met, the Jets posted a video of forward Mark Scheifele in the dressing room afterwards saying “there’s nothing better than beating the Leafs?” Wayne Simmonds will return to the lineup for the Leafs, and he spoke about the type of matchup the Leafs can expect as they get set to take on the Jets once more in what should be a physical affair.
