Note: Puck drop is at 7:00 pm CT tonight as the Jets will continue their four-game series with the Flames, which will be the sixth game of this seven game homestand. After the game, be sure to check us out for all the post-game reaction.
Jets news:
Winnipeg Free Press: Hellebuyck’s show of emotion a ‘rare occurrence’. (Paywall). Not often you see the Jets top netminder obliterate his stick like he did at the end of last night’s contest.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets need more from Hellebuyck and have faith that they’ll get it. Given the number of times the top netminder has bailed out his squad he could probably expect some reciprocity (in spades) from the players in front of him.
Global News: Line shuffle could be step toward Jets’ future. The big moment for this team’s future will be the moment that Pierre-Luc Dubois provides them with a centre depth that puts them into the conversation as one of the deepest teams at that position. Until that time however it will be up to guys like Andrew Copp and Nikolaj Ehlers as well as Mark Scheifele who will need to drive the bus.
Illegal Curve: Jets vs. Flames pre-game report. The Jets held an optional morning skate followed by a media availability before they take on Calgary. Check out the projected lines and D pairs and hear from Connor Hellebuyck, Nikolaj Ehlers as well as coach Maurice.
Illegal Curve: Morning Papers. If you missed any of the news from earlier today we have you covered.
Jets video:
TSN: Ehlers vows to be better, ‘I did not play well yesterday’. Nikolaj Ehlers admits he did not play well against the Flames in their shootout loss and vows to be better tonight. Head coach Paul Maurice agrees with Ehlers and explains what he expects from his tonight.
TSN: Hellebuyck explains why he just had to ‘let it out’ after shootout loss. Connor Hellebuyck smashed his stick over the net after allowing the game-winning shootout goal to Johnny Gaudreau on Monday. He explains why sometimes you just have to ‘let it out’ and why it’s not good to bottle up those emotions.
Jets audio:
The Chirp Podcast: Jets centre Pierre-Luc Dubois & his dogs. Daren Millard is joined by Pierre-Luc Dubois and his two bulldogs (5:17). Dubois talks about the circumstances surrounding his trade to Winnipeg, navigating the move to a new city, his quarantine schedule, and learning the ins and outs of a new system. He also discusses what it means to move to Winnipeg where his parents currently live and why he’s looking forward to joining the Jets.
