It was becoming clearer and clearer this week that Jets winger Gabriel Vilardi would be activated off injured reserve and play tonight against the Oilers. He’s still a game-time decision but this makes it seem very likely he will be ready to return this evening against Edmonton.
He had suffered a sprained MCL back on October 17th against his old Kings club and the initial projection for recovery from head coach Rick Bowness was 4-6 weeks.

The team has announced that they have activated him off IR today which means he’s available to play (of course where he plays remains a mystery, he was on the fourth line yesterday and today they held an optional morning skate).
Vilardi has been limited to two games and part of one period this season. Rick Bowness spoke about trying to ease him back in from a minutes perspective and it will be interesting to see which line he plays with this evening.
