Winnipeg Jets acquire Dylan DeMelo from the Senators for a third round pick in 2020

The Jets made their first trade of the season as they announce they have acquired right shot defenceman Dylan DeMelo from the Senators for a third-round pick in the upcoming 2020 draft.  In 49 games with Ottawa he has 10 assists.

Here are a look at some of his advanced numbers:

He is set to become a UFA at the end of the season who is making 900K this season.

Early consensus is that Winnipeg acquired a good piece for their blueline and not at a high cost.

DeMelo was a Sharks 6th round draft pick in 2011 and was part of the package San Jose sent to Ottawa in the Erik Karlsson blockbuster trade back in 2018.
