The Jets prospects and Development Camp invitees will spend their last day of drills today as they will simply scrimmage on Friday at 10:00 AM to conclude a week of them being here in Winnipeg.
Notable: Joona Luoto:
On the Finnish presence in Winnipeg “It’s so much easier when there is someone speaks your native language. But that’s not the main thing but it’s like bonus thing for me.”
Describing his game “I am hard working two-way forward. I like to do my defence part good and then offence. Be hard and strong in the corners.”
His familiarity with other Finnish guys on the team “I did play with Patrik back home in Finland in juniors, couple of years. And we are from the same city. So I know him a little bit but that’s all.”
Said he recognized that Laine had a scoring touch when they were 12 or 13.
On coming over from Finland to North America “I have been playing two years in Finland. I think I have been a little stuck there and just like to have that fresh start in North America and its so good for me to be here. I think my play style is so much better here in the small rink.”
Tomorrow will be a scrimmage as the Jets finish off Development Camp for the week.
