The Jets reduced their roster by four players today getting down to 25 players left in camp. While they will need to get to 23 by tomorrow at 4 pm CT it looks like the team may be dealing with some injuries so that may be delayed. We will know more when coach Maurice speaks following skate.
According to Sara Orlesky of TSN here are the forward lines from today’s skate:
Perreault- Scheifele-Wheeler
Ehlers- Little-Laine
Tanev- Lowry-Armia
Dano-Matthias-Petan
Connor
Not skating: Hendricks and Copp. Update: According to coach Maurice, Matt Hendricks has been placed on injured reserve (day-to-day) and won’t be available for the opener against the Leafs. Andrew Copp is going to be further evaluated.
Audio:
Patrik Laine
Bryan Little
Steve Mason
Adam Lowry
Blake Wheeler
Coach Maurice: Injury update. How much can be read into the different lines from today (and specifically the 3rd line)? On the decisions to send the four players to the Moose and keeping Poolman up with the Jets. What does Perreault add to the Scheifele and Wheeler line? Does he have a sense where his team is at in terms of defensive play? Potential of offence from the bottom six. On whether Hendricks would be available for game 1 of season. Would he rule out keeping eight defencemen up?
