Winnipeg Jets 2016-17 Training Camp Day 18: Players

Last year on day 18 of Jets training camp things looked a little different than they do today.  Down to 23 players on the ice after the Jets re-assigned eight guys today (and Lemieux remains injured).

Player Audio:

Blake Wheeler: On the moves made today.  On the play of the goalies.  On the Jets roster.  Priorities for the next week.

Brandon Tanev:  On getting a roster spot.  Did he expect that to happen?  Did he feel he got to show what he has?  Did he hear from his brother yet?  Hard part making the team?

Connor Hellebuyck:  Confidence in his game.  How did he find out the news?  What’s it like having the roster question mark answered?

Kyle Connor:  What’s it feel like to be on the roster?  What was the conversation like when he found out?  How were the nerves this weekend?  Sense of relief?  What kind of expectations does he have for Thursday?

Josh Morrissey:  What was it like finding out he made the team?  Next step for him. How does he view this opportunity?  The pace at training camp.  Does he feel ready for a potential top four role?  What’s it like seeing the youth in the lineup?  Picking the brains of the vets on the team.  Playing in the NHL.  Different than in times past when he isn’t being sent down to minors.   Have the D pairs been finalized?

Tyler Myers:  On the players who were re-assigned.  Outlook on the new season.  Does he take more leadership/ownership with the young players on D.  How different does this defence look going into this season?  What kind of advice would he have for a player like Josh Morrissey?

Michael Hutchinson: Confidence in him from the organization.  Did he text/talk to Ondrej Pavelec?  What was his reaction when he realized he was starting the season with the Jets?
