The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with the National Hockey League, today released its 82-game schedule for the 2016-17 NHL regular season.

The Jets will open the season at home on Thursday, Oct. 13 against the Carolina Hurricanes followed by the team’s first road game at Minnesota on Saturday, Oct. 15. The Jets will play four of the first five games of the season on home ice, including the Tim Hortons Heritage Classic against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. CT at Investors Group Field. The Jets will also again host a New Year’s Eve game against the New York Islanders at 6 p.m. CT.

The longest home stand of the season will span six games from Feb. 28-Mar. 11. The longest road trip of the season will see the Jets play five games from Nov. 17-25 away from MTS Centre.

The Jets will face Canadian teams at MTS Centre on eight occasions during the 2016-17 season. The Oilers will be in town for the Heritage Classic along with Dec. 1. The Toronto Maple Leafs make their lone trip to MTS Centre on Oct. 19, Montreal is in Winnipeg on Jan. 11 and Ottawa is the last Canadian team the Jets will face on Apr. 1. The Calgary Flames visit MTS Centre twice this season, on Jan. 9 and Mar. 11. Vancouver is in town once, on Mar. 26.

November will be the busiest month, with the Jets playing 16 games in the month including six games at home and 10 on the road. Winnipeg will play 14 back-to-backs including three sets at home. New this year will be a five-day break during the season with the Jets having five days off from Feb. 22-26.

The Jets will take on their Central Division rivals – Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators and St. Louis Blues – a total of 29 times with 14 of those match-ups coming at MTS Centre. The Jets will play the remainder of the Western Conference from the Pacific Division – Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks – a total of 21 times with 11 of those games coming at home. The Jets will also host and visit every team in the Eastern Conference once throughout the 2016-17 season.

Start times indicated on the attached schedule are in central time. Times may vary depending on broadcast requirements. Television broadcast schedules will be released shortly. However, all 82 games will once again be broadcast on the radio on TSN 1290 this season.
