Jets bench boss Paul Maurice feels that he can accomplish his goals with the group as it is currently composed and clearly that was sufficient for the GM Kevin Cheveldayoff as he held off making any additional moves today.
In his chat with the media to discuss the Trade Deadline day, Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff spoke about his (and his coach’s) comfort moving forward with this group. “At some point in time you have to say, ‘ok this is our group’. This is who we are moving forward with. At a point in time today I picked up the phone and had one last conversation with Paul (Maurice) and I said are you comfortable with where we are at and the group and the depth, the players that we have in St. John’s potentially to come in from that side of it and he said ‘ya, let’s go’ so that was pretty much all I needed to hear.”
