The Winnipeg Jets’ season ended today and a “top-to-bottom” audit is expected to commence tomorrow with player exit meetings. During his chat with Sara Orlesky of TSN, the Chairman/Owner of the Jets, Mark Chipman, made it sound like Kevin Cheveldayoff would be leading that audit.
Today, in his article about Mark Scheifele’s long-term future with the team, Ken Wiebe reported this has been codified in a contract extension:
“Although there has yet to be a formal announcement, Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has been given a three-year contract extension to continue to run the hockey team.”
Join us tomorrow night, at 8:00pm CT, for a special edition of The Illegal Curve Hockey Show, where we’ll discuss this development, Mark Scheifele’s comments and more from the end-of-season media availabilities. In addition, the inimitable Dennis Beyak will join us for an interview.
