Which Winnipeg Jets are playing in World Championship in Germany & France

The hockey World Championship kicks off in Cologne, Germany and Paris, France beginning on May 5th and running until May 21st.  During the end of season meetings with the players we found out some of the members of the Jets who will be wearing the flag of their home country next month.  The Jets also tweeted out a list on Monday.

One Jets player who is taking some well deserved time off is rookie Patrik Laine who won’t suit up for Finland.

USA:

– Jacob Trouba
– Andrew Copp
– Connor Hellebuyck

Canada:

– Mark Scheifele
– Josh Morrissey

Denmark:

– Nikolaj Ehlers

Jets who could still get the call:

– Tyler Myers (Canada) – played in 2010 & 2014. “It came up the last few days here.  I think the smartest choice for me right now is to stay home and strengthen up….I won’t completely shut the door.  I know its not completely up to me either.  A couple weeks from now if I’m feeling really good I might make the call to see if there is a spot open, understanding there might not be.  We will see where I am in a couple of weeks.”
– Bryan Little (Canada) – never played.  Was asked if he had been contacted by Hockey Canada and indicated he had not.
– Marko Dano (Slovakia) – played in 2015.
– Kyle Connor (USA) – played in 2016.
– Jack Roslovic (USA) – never played.

Update:  Prospect Jan Kostalek was granted permission by the organization to end his season early so he could head to Europe to try out for the Czech Republic team.
