If you answered all of them to the question in the headline you are most likely right. At this point everyone is well aware of the trade request made by Jacob Trouba’s agent back on September 24th. Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has since indicated that he is prepared to wait until he receives the right offer for his young RFA defenceman, an offer that would likely see a left side defenceman come back to Winnipeg.
In the few weeks since the trade request went public there have been a multitude of teams that have been rumoured to be in on the Jacob Trouba sweepstakes. Here is a list of some those teams with articles discussing the hows and whys that a trade with that team would make sense:
1. Detroit Red Wings
Might it make sense that the Michigan native would go to the team he grew up cheering for his entire life? From the list of articles and radio broadcast that have covered this topic it would appear they would love to get him into the fold.
Detroit Free Press: Detroit Red Wings should inquire about Jacob Trouba trade.

2. Boston Bruins
While Trouba was still among a number of RFAs the Jets needed to get signed once the season ended the rumours were swirling during the 2016 NHL Entry Draft that Boston was preparing a HUGE offer sheet for Trouba. One that would have seen four 1st round picks coming back to Winnipeg had they not matched the offer that was rumoured going to be made by the B’s.

4. Arizona Coyotes
Another young team that could use someone like Trouba playing big minutes on that right side.
TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenize tweeted “Among the many teams interested in Trouba, ARI has been and will likely continue to be a serious suitor. But it’ll be a long list.”
Articles listing multiple teams:
Winnipeg Sun: Trade options for Trouba. Includes Coyotes, Avalanche, Red Wings, Flyers.
National Post: Six teams that could trade for the Winnipeg Jets defenceman. Includes Leafs, Sabres, Canucks, Wings & Devils.
Sportsnet: Seven potential trade destinations. Includes Bruins, Wings, Coyotes, Leafs, Rangers, Devils & Oilers.
NBC Sports: Four teams that would make sense for Jacob Trouba. Includes Ducks, Bruins, Rangers & Avalanche.
CBS Sports: 5 potential landing spots. Includes Bruins, Coyotes, Oilers, Devils, Red Wings.
ESPN: Jacob Trouba best trade destinations. (Paywall). Includes Sabres, Ducks, Oilers, Coyotes, Wild, Hawks & Flames.
Of course the reality is there are many more teams than the ones listed above who would like to acquire a piece like Jacob Trouba for their organization. The question once you’ve determined interest is whether they have the right assets to send back to the Jets. We will take a look at that question next.
