Defenceman Shea Weber has signed a three-year, $13,5 million contract with the Nashville Predators, avoiding restricted free agency.

I’d say these are fair terms for both sides. Weber had a setback last year with an early season injury and he never seemed to get back to his former self, especially offensively, until very late into the season. That being said, the Predators know how valuable he is to their team and Weber obviously seems like it in Nashville. With the way the market is heading, a $4.5 million average cap hit for three years will probably be a pretty big bargain by the time the deal is complete. It may even be a bargain as early as next season; Weber is that good.
