Ville Heinola and Walker Duehr clear waivers; can be assigned to the Manitoba Moose

The Jets placed two players on waivers on Sunday, one of which was expected (Walker Duehr) and one was not (Ville Heinola) but neither was picked up by another NHL team as per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press which means they can be assigned to the Manitoba Moose.

It’s a bit of a surprise that another NHL team didn’t take a shot at Heinola to see if they can help him reclaim some of what we saw back in 2019. I see this as good for both Heinola and the Jets/Moose organization. The Finnish defender can go down and rediscover his game without the pressure of the NHL and the AHL club gets a big asset to help push the puck to a talented forward group.

Speaking of which Duehr adds more veteran depth to a roster with a good mix of vets but also quite a few Jets prospects.
