From Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun:

The Sun has learned Antoine Vermette avoided arbitration.
Here is the deal.
$2.525 million next season.
$3 million in 2009-10.

Good move by the Senators.  There was really no good reason to have a heated arbitration hearing with one of the team’s integral forwards.  Signing Vermette to a two-year deal at reasonable dollars is a solid move for the franchise.
