Alex Rigsby, the first female ever drafted in the USHL has been keeping IC readers informed as to her progress through the Chicago Steel camp.
We reported the other day that she was cut and Alex was nice enough to give IC some post camp reaction.
The select camp ended up consisting of a practice, workout, and two games before they made the final cut which led to the two all star games. When they made the final cut they narrowed the goalies from 8 to 4. I did end up making it to the all star games, so that was a lot of fun. The guys were so good and they were such fast paced games. I loved it. The Steel kept their existing goalie and took their draft choice from last year who is a ’91 birth year. I had an awesome time at the camp and it was such a great experience.
In response to where she might be playing next year:
I am not sure where I will be playing next year as of right now.
So stay tuned to IC to find out more about Alex and other young prospects.
