Some good news today for the Jets as Nino Niederreiter took part in a team skate as per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Free Press who is in Nashville and reported that the Swiss forward “just came on the ice and is taking a light skate”.
This is the first time since April 1st when he was cut at the midpoint of the 3rd period in a game against the Kings. A few days later head coach Rick Bowness advised that they were hopeful it would be about a week for him to recover from the deep cut he suffered in the game.
This is what Ken reported head coach Rick Bowness had to say about Niederreiter in his media availability following morning skate.
“..that there is still no timeline for Nino Niederreiter to return, though it was good to see him on the ice this morning. Bowness would like to see him in a full practice on Friday, so the earliest he’s likely going to return would be Saturday vs Avs.”
