Here is the abbreviated Friday edition of Tonight’s Top Scorers:
Dion Phaneuf – Sean Avery lit a fire undert this guy. A passing fire! 4 assists tonight for Elisha Cuthbert’s boyfriend. He had a plus 2 rating with 5 shots on goal and 4 PIMs.
Corey Schneider – He was the top AHL goaltender before getting called up and records his first NHL win tonight vs the Minnesota Wild. 16 saves on 17 shots.
Oscar Moller – This Swede had two points for the Kings tonight. To be honest I hadn’t heard much about him, but I was the Kings the other day in NHL 09 and he was great. He has 3 points in his last 2.
Robbie Schremp – Illegal Curve contributor recorded two assists tonight to give him 3 total points on the year (in two games). Way to go Robbie!
Andrew Cogliano – Cogs has recorded one goal and one assist in his past two games and has 8 points in his last seven. Unfortunately I have him on the bench for this scoring period.
Dustin Brown – Another one of my favourites recorded 11 shots on goal tonight. That’s Ovechkin territory. I love guys who shoot a lot and if you have been reading Tonight’s Top Scorers you will frequently see Brown up there. He only had one assist tonight, but nothing bad can come from recording a lot of shots on the scoresheet. Did you know: Brown is second in the league this year in shots, only to Ovechkin (117 to 135).
Well that’s it for me tonight. I’ll be back tomorrow night with the full version of Tonight’s Top Scorers.
