From Mike Knubler of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Goalie Johan Hedberg has signed a two-year contract with the Thrashers, the team announced Monday.

Terms of the deal were not immediately released. Hedberg, 35, earned $1.15 million for 2007-08, according to the NHL Players’ Association.

Not quite sure why the contract is for two years. I am assuming the team re-signed Hedberg because of Kari Lehtonen’s injury history. But even so, they have Ondrej Pavelec in the minors and he has proven himself at the AHL level (his team just won the Calder Cup). So, the deal would make a little more sense if it were a one year pact.
