I don’t believe anyone saw this coming. I don’t know what the odds makers put this Western Conference Final at but I suspect had you picked it in September you would have won yourself some money. The expansion team from Vegas has defied the odds (literally) all regular season long and continued this theme into the playoffs sweeping the Kings in the first round followed by a defeat of the Sharks in six.
These two teams have squared off three times in the regular season and the results have been more slightly more favourable to the Golden Knights:
Game 1: Golden Knights 5 Jets 2 (November 10th in Vegas)
Game 2: Jets 7 Golden Knights 4 (December 1st in Winnipeg)
Game 3: Golden Knights 3 Jets 2 in OT (February 1st in Winnipeg)
There won’t be a lot of turnaround time because unlike the Golden Knights who have been off a week since they dispatched the San Jose Sharks the Jets will have Friday to “recover” and then they kick off the series with Game 1 here in Winnipeg on Saturday night.
Full Schedule:
Game 1: Saturday, May 12, 6 p.m Golden Knights @ Jets
Game 2: Monday, May 14, 7 p.m Golden Knights @ Jets
Game 3: Wednesday, May 16, 8 pm Jets @ Golden Knights
Game 4: Friday, May 18, 7 p.m Jets @ Golden Knights
Game 5*: Sunday, May 20, 2 p.m Golden Knights @ Jets
Game 6*: Tuesday, May 22, 8 p.m Jets @ Golden Knights
Game 7*: Thursday, May 24, 7 p.m Golden Knights @ Jets
*if necessary.
