This Moose squad came into the game this afternoon riding high having points in ten straight games (9-0-0-1) and having already defeated the Marlies twice to kick off this road trip. They were looking for the sweep this afternoon in Toronto.
Lineup news:
After Johnny Kovacevic went down hard late in the 3rd period it seemed unlikely that he would play today and that turned out to be the case as the Moose didn’t take a chance with the Jets 2017 3rd rounder. The only move up front was Bobby Lynch replacing Westin Michaud on the wing.
Moose lineup:
Malott-Gustafsson-Todd
Suess-Perfetti-Reichel
Krieger-Maier-Jones
Lynch-Pelton-Byce-Egle
Samberg – Nogier
Bourque – Shaw
King – Gawanke
Berdin
Kehler
Noteworthy:
Jets 2017 2nd rounder Dylan Samberg has a three game points streak (1G 2A).
Jets 2020 1st rounder Cole Perfetti had an assist in the win. Gives him five goals and 11 assists in his last 11 games.
Nathan Todd’s season to remember continues as the leading scorer for Manitoba picked up 1G 2A in the Moose win today in Toronto. That gives him 10G 19A for 29PTS in 32GP. For perspective he had 1G in his previous 27 games in the AHL.
Jets 2018 2nd rounder David Gustafsson found some room to score, which turned out to be the game-winner. He has 6G 11A in 18GP.
Manitoba runs their points streak to 11 games (10-0-0-1) with today’s 4-3 win over Marlies.
