Philadelphia Daily News: “The combination of Games 1 and 2 made this the highest-rated and most-watched opening two games of the finals since Detroit faced Carolina in 2002. Versus’ combined ratings went up 273 percent from last year when Anaheim played Ottawa and 181 percent from the Carolina-Edmonton matchup in 2006.”

This is great news for the NHL and the ratings can only be rising after last night’s tremendous and exciting Game 3. Moreover, last night’s game was on NBC which has a wider national audience than Versus. I would expect the highest television rating for a Stanley Cup Finals game this decade if the series goes six games.
