Moose roster

The Moose skated today at hockey for all centre as they prepared for the season opener in Iowa on Saturday. A few hours later the team announced their 2024-25 opening night roster as well as a few roster moves. They released goalie Matthew Thiessen from his tryout agreement. They also signed left-shot defenceman Graham Sward signed to one-year AHL contract. The BC product spent one season in Winnipeg when he was acquired by the Winnipeg Ice of the WHL. He thereafter moved with the team to Wenatchee in Washington State where he put up 15 goals and 66 assists for 81 points in 66 games. This leaves the AHL club of Manitoba with two goalies, nine defencemen and 16 forwards although it's worth noting that netminder total could change by tomorrow as the Jets placed Kaapo Kahkonen on waivers for purposes of assignment to the Moose. Roster: G (2): Thomas Milic & Domenic DiVincentiis D (9): Tyrel Bauer, Dawson Barteaux, Ashton Sautner, Simon Lundmark, Ben Zloty, Dmitry Kuzmin Graham Sward, Elias Salomonsson and Dylan Anhorn. F (16): Kevin Conley, Brad Lambert, Ben King, Chaz Lucius, Danny Zhilkin, Mason Shaw, Nikita Chibrikov, Tyson Empey, Parker Ford, C.J. Suess, Henri Nikkanen, Daniel Torgersson, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Dominic Toninato, Carson Golder and Mark Liwiski. Lines & D Pairs: Based on how things were running today the lines look like this: Toninato-Lambert-AJF Chibrikov-Zhilkin-Shaw King-Suess-Ford Torgersson-Nikkanen-Liwiski Empey-Golder-Conley Worth noting that the team is being cautious with 2021 1st rounder Chaz Lucius. So he won't be in the lineup for either game to Des Moines. Lundmark – Salomonsson Kuzmin – Bauer Sautner – Barteaux Anhorn – Sward Zloty These were the D pairs from yesterday's practice but I feel like they changed slightly today but my focus was more on the forwards. Up next: The Moose will be wheels up on Friday morning as they head to Iowa for the season opener against the Wild. No skate tomorrow so they’ll next be on the ice on Saturday morning for gameday skate.
