Looking to build off of Saturday's 3-0 win over the Avalanche, the Winnipeg Jets welcomed the Vancouver Canucks to town on Tuesday evening and ran away with this game early. With two strong performances in a row, this line has earned a longer look, which could open up more opportunities down the lineup, such as Nino Niederreiter and Cole Perfetti playing together… Cole Perfetti hits 100 career points With his second assist of the game on Nino Niederreiter’s tally to make it 5-0, Cole Perfetti recorded his 100th point in his 185th career game. It took Kyle Connor 178 games, Mark Scheifele 173, and Nikolaj Ehlers 159 to each hit 100 points. The 23-year-old Perfetti is a few games behind the pace that Scheifele and Connor reached the milestone at, and that bodes well for his future success. Perfetti has been in a points slump as of late, as he snapped a nine-game pointless streak with a two-goal performance on this night. It was one of his best performances of the past month alongside Nino Niederretier and Rasmus Kupari on the third line. Now, he’s staying in the fight and he’s winning a lot of his one-on-one confrontations or battles and again, he’s making plays, getting in there and when he does that, that’s when he’s at his best.” It is also worth noting that with Ehlers and Perfetti apart from one another, both players have played strong in their minutes. Limited sample, but similar to the Ehlers and Lowry duo, the Jets would be wise to explore the Niederreiter and Perfetti duo further given their limited success.
