Bruce Dowbiggen provides Canadian sports fans with some interesting news on the television front. Going to miss Hardcore Hockey Talk. That show catered to fans like us and it's a shame the network has decided to move in another direction. Goon's World has a link to a story saying that new UNO coach Dean Blais has an "out clause" in his contact that would allow him to apply for the University of Minnesota job should it ever come open. Whatever it takes to get a great coach like that to your campus makes sense to me. Western College Hockey has a few notes on some recent college commits, including highly touted goalie Zane Gothberg, who will be reporting to UND after his stint with the Fargo Force. Great socialism line in there. Barry Melrose Rocks pokes a little fun at the Tampa Bay Lightning Marketing department. Where have you gone Vinny Prospal? Eddie Olczyk takes a swipe at Martin Havlat while standing up for Hawks management. Eddie O has Twitter???? Joking. Defending Big D has Part II of its look at new media, journalism and hockey. Great piece. Both parts of this series are terrific. One Timers and Deflections discusses women and the HHOF. Women deserve to be in there. Have for a while now too.
