When the Jets qualified RFA Leon Gawanke some folks were wondering why they did because he had signed a four year deal to play in the DEL after not getting an opportunity to play with the Jets. He’s a left shot Dman who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2019 draft. He made his NHL debut with San Jose during the 2021-22 season.
