Strickland Report: Defenceman Logan Stanley has requested a trade from the Winnipeg Jets

Two days ago on The Jeff Marek Show Elliotte Friedman unsolicited mentioned that:

That there has been “some action” around Jets defenceman Logan Stanley. He said “someone told me they were actually surprised that he didn’t go to Nashville in the Niederreiter trade. But I’ve heard there’s been a little talk about Stanley as the Jets look to do some things.”

Fast forward to today where rinkside reporter for Bally Sports Midwest Andy Strickland, who covers the Blues but is pretty connected across the NHL, has tweeted out:

Hearing 6’7 Winnipeg Dman Logan Stanley has asked for a trade. Former 1st rounder is just 24 years old. Still no guarantee the team moves him.

After playing 58 games for the Jets last season the 2016 1st rounder of Winnipeg has been limited to just 13 games during the 2022-23 campaign. He has dealt with a couple of injuries this season.

Stanley is making 900K and will be an RFA with arbitration rights at the end of the season.

Again a trade request doesn’t mean much. There have been a number of players who have requested trades (hello Evander Kane) for years and continued to play for the team. Just more information ahead of Trade Deadline which concludes at 2 PM CST on Friday.
