Stars Seguin one ups Jets Scheifele in pre-game warm up hijinks

Mark Scheifele has a well known tradition of being the last player to leave the ice (from either team) as warm up skate winds down.  Tonight was no different as Scheifele waited patiently for Tyler Seguin, the last Stars player to exit the ice at MTS Centre.

Of course as fans around here are well aware this isn’t the first time that 55 and 91 had a pre-game encounter.  This past October it resulted in a Paper, Rock, Scissor battle which was won by Scheifele.

Perhaps that left the Jets alternate captain a tad complacent.  This evening at the MTS Centre they were, once again, the last two on the ice but this time Scheifele saw Seguin leave the ice surface and assumed all was well.

But Seguin had other ideas.  Instead with Scheifele’s 55 receding down the Jets tunnel to the room, Seguin popped back onto the ice.  The crowd, understanding the history and enjoying the hijjinx between the two, gave a little ooh and ahh.

Give this one to 91.

Update: Of course this has been Gif’d.
