Stanley Cup Playoffs – Round 2 Game 3: Jets vs. Predators pre-game report

The Jets held an optional practice on Monday so we didn’t get any insight into any potential roster changes ahead of game 3.  With Mathieu Perreault trading his non-contact uniform for a regular one perhaps there is a chance that he draws into the game.  We will find out today and for now the projected lines and D pairs based on the last game.

AM Skate Notes:

According to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun it looks like there is a change today as Mathieu Perreault has gone back to the non-contact uniform.  Ken also indicated that Joel Armia and Dmitry Kulikov remain in non-contact jerseys.

Projected lines and D pairs based on last game:

Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ehlers-Stastny-Laine
Tanev-Lowry-Little
Hendricks-Copp-Roslovic

Morrissey-Trouba
Enstrom-Byfuglien
Chiarot-Myers

Hellebuyck
Mason

Extra: Matthias, Dano, Morrow, Poolman and Hutchinson.
Injured: Perreault, Armia & Kulikov

Audio:

Blake Wheeler

Paul Stastny

Mark Scheifele

Ben Chiarot

Nikolaj Ehlers

Coach Maurice:  How has the team handled the low of being scored on in double OT?  Impact of Paul Stastny down the stretch for the club.  What has brought out the offense in Brandon Tanev?  On the between the whistle activity.  Did he see Byfuglien “punch” his teammates after the Jets scored.  What was the biggest challenge of the Ryan Johansen line?  What did the group do better in game 2 to generate more offensive time?  More on Tanev’s game.  How much harder is it to establish “your game” against a team that has a similar style?  Is it unusual not to be chasing specific matchups?  Is it refreshing as a coach not to have to worry as the matchups?  His thoughts on the playoff format?
