Stanley Cup Playoffs – Round 1 Game 5: Jets 5 Wild 0 post-game recap

The Jets had a monumental opening period scoring four times (Trouba, Little, Tanev and Byfuglien) to take a stranglehold on the game.  The second period was fairly ho hum aside from news that Joel Armia wouldn’t return after suffering an upper-body injury.  The final frame saw Mark Scheifele score his fourth of the playoffs on the power play to give the Jets a 5-0 lead.  After that it was simply a matter of running out the clock.  Connor Hellebuyck picks up back to back shutouts and for the first time in 31 years the a Winnipeg based NHL team has won a playoff series.
