From NHL.com:
The National Hockey League announced today that Game 2 of the 2009 Stanley Cup Final on May 31, 2009, has been assigned an 8:00 p.m. ET start time.
The game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit will be broadcast on NBC in the United States and on CBC and RDS in Canada.
This move is a result of last night’s victory by the Los Angeles Lakers over the Denver Nuggets. Had the Lakers lost, Game 7 of the NBA Western Conference Finals would have been played last night in L.A. and the NHL would have had to compete head-to-head with the Lakers in Game 7. In that instance Game 2 would have started at 7pm.
