Sportsnet | Rick Bowness reacts to news that Scott Arniel was named head coach of the Winnipeg Jets

Recently retired bench boss Rick Bowness has joined the Sportsnet panel during the third round of the NHL playoffs and with today’s news that his former associate coach Scott Arniel had been named to his former position he was asked by Ron MacLean for his reaction to the news:

“I’m very, very happy for Scott. He has been a huge help for me over the last couple of years and he is more than prepared for this job. He is the perfect guy to take over. He’s going to continue to build what we’ve done for the last couple of years, hopefully he can have more success in the playoffs than I did, but he is more than ready for this job. He is going to do a great job for the Winnipeg Jets.”

Not a big surprise that Bowness would give Arniel a ringing endorsement give he was his right hand man the last two seasons in Winnipeg.
