Do not be surprised if the Sharks announce a contract extension soon for defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic, who is now scheduled to become a restricted free agent next July. Talks with his agent are under way and, so I hear, going well.

Vlasic had a tremendous rookie season in 2006/07 but did struggle a bit in his sophomore campaign. That said, the young blue-liner is tremendously talented and should see more ice-time in all situations this season and beyond.
He's closing in on his first game since January 13th.
The 2024 2nd rounder is in Winnipeg where he'll spend the rest of the season…
