A Finnish report from journalist Tommi Seppälä today had the Jets world buzzing.  It spoke of a number of topics including regarding the Jets 2015 7th rounder as he waited for his chance to get back up to the NHL.  Ironically it came out on the day that fans finally would see Niku Freed as it was confirmed this morning that he would play tonight in Montreal.

Saila Sotavalta, who is a Finnish Jets fan, has translated it for folks on this side of the pond.  You can read her translation of Tommi’s report here.

Here is what Niku and Jets bench boss Paul Maurice said today in Montreal:

Sami Niku on the mention of the KHL in the Finnish article.

Sami Niku on staying patient.

Sami Niku on the interaction with assistant coach Charlie Huddy.

Sami Niku on showing his emotions.

Coach Maurice on the Niku/Huddy interaction.

Coach Maurice on whether it was for this that he was punished/sent to the minors.

Coach Maurice on the benefits of Niku getting time in the AHL.
