The Jets have added a veteran centre according to TSN’s Darren Dreger getting Alaskan-born Nate Thompson under contract for one year at $750,000.
Thompson played last season primarily with the Montreal Canadiens before he was dealt to the Philadelphia Flyers at the trade deadline for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick. He had four goals and 11 assists in 70 regular season games last season and added a goal in 16 playoff games for Philadelphia.
The 36-year-old has 62 goals and 94 assists in 767 NHL games since he turned pro in 2008-09.
