He is about to start his fourth year of professional hockey and today Delta, BC product Nic Petan has a new one-year deal with the Jets worth $874,125.00 at the NHL level ($70,000.00 at the AHL level) according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press who confirmed the deal with Petan’s agent.
In his previous three seasons with the Jets organization the skilled forward has split time between the NHL and the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. After playing a season high 54 games for Winnipeg in 2016-17 he was limited to just 15 games last season with the big club. This however didn’t impact his play in the minors where he put up 52 points (15 goals and 37 assists) in 52 games for the Moose.
Many see this season as Nic Petan’s opportunity to seize a spot with the big club. It will be an interesting training camp to watch.
