Jets had until June 1st to sign 2020 6th rounder Tyrel Bauer to his ELC which the fine folks at CapFriendly just announced that they have. Here are the terms as per them:
D Tyrel Bauer #GoJetsGo
2020 6th rd pick (164th overall)
3 year ELC
$850k cap hit $925k AAV
22-23: $750k base + $90k SB + $85k PB
23-24: $775k base + $80k SB + $70k PB
24-25: $775k base + $80k SB + $70k PB
The Thunderbirds captain suffered an MCL injury this season in Seattle which was detailed by his team here. The 6’3 right shot defenceman from Cochrane, Alberta is currently in the WHL Western Conference Finals going up against Kamloops in game 7 tomorrow night with a chance to face the Oil Kings in the WHL championship.
Given Jets prospects Johnny Kovacevic (2017 3rd) & Leon Gawanke (2017 5th) are no longer waiver exempt there is likely gonna be some room on Moose right side for Bauer. He’ll join prospect Simon Lundmark (2019 2nd) who had a really nice season for the Moose.
