Last month Jets 2nd rounder from 2022 Elias Salomonsson was in Winnipeg for Development Camp with his fellow prospects. He generated a lot of buzz as the right-shot defenceman made quite the impression on folks watching him during this time in Manitoba.

He said at camp that he would be heading back to Skellefteå where he was expecting to have a top role with his club.
There was a report today (in the Swedish paper Hockeysverige) that Salomonsson will be heading back to Winnipeg for training camp next month (via Google translate):
“It is clear that it is a bit sad to miss the start of the SHL season, but it will be exciting to go there and then we will see what happens. The plan is to play here later. AIK and Winnipeg have a good dialogue, says Salomonsson to Folkbladet.”
It’s an interesting decision given he could miss up to a month of his regular season over in Sweden (depending on how long he sticks at camp). Will certainly make training camp worth watching even more.
